Join us for an empowering and practical trail running workshop designed specifically for women at the stunning Westerlands Farm in the heart of South Downs National Park, West Sussex. Whether you're a beginner or transitioning from road running to trails, this workshop is perfect for you.


Why Attend?

Trail running can feel intimidating for some women due to concerns about getting lost, feeling isolated, or facing a more challenging terrain. Our workshop aims to dispel these myths and build your confidence, providing you with the skills and knowledge to enjoy the sport safely and joyfully.


We ask that you are comfortable running 5km for this workshop although we won't run this distance all in one go.


  • Physical Preparation: Learn how to adjust your running technique for different terrains to avoid injury and enhance your performance.

  • We will cover running up hill more efficiently.

  • Build your confidence on the downhills.

  • Vision on the trails.

  • We will break everything down and practice on the trails, so you can become a more mindful runner.

  • We can discuss fueling your longer runs.

  • Advice on what kit to use.

  • Myth Busting: Understand that trail running doesn't have to be overly competitive or physically overwhelming. It's about enjoying nature and the journey.

  • Confidence Building: Overcome fears of isolation and discover the supportive and inclusive trail running community.

  • Safety Tips: Gain essential skills for navigating trails, understanding trail markings, and staying safe in natural environments.


What you need


  • The following items are COMPULSORY:

  • Trail shoes

  • Water + snacks/gels for our time on the trails.

  • A waterproof jacket.

  • A running pack to carry the above.

Rachel Murphy is an experienced trail and ultra runner with a deep passion for the sport. As an England Athletics Fell and Mountain Running Coach, UESCA Certified Ultra Running Coach and Run Leader, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her coaching and guided runs. Rachel is also a proud Salomon Running Ambassador, representing one of the top brands in the industry.
