About The Event

Please read ALL the information below:

We never tire of running around the Hurtwood area of the Surrey Hills. Join us for this new route, starting and finishing at the wonderful Hurtwood Inn in Peaslake where we can warm up, have a drink and a chat after the run. There is car parking at the side of the pub, plus there is also a public car park about 20m away down Pond Lane.

This fantastic route takes us to both Pitch Hill and Holmbury Hill for pretty night views and through lovely forest trails, where we are usually treated to the sights and sounds of wildlife.

If you have never done a trail run at night, I highly recommend giving it a go.

Exploring trails in the dark heightens your senses. You need to concentrate as you run. The trails look and sound different from in the day; it’s a great chance to see and hear wildlife.

There is something special about running hills above a town with its twinkling lights below too. Whether you are training for a race that will mean running in the dark and you want to get used to night running first or if you just want to have a nocturnal adventure. The more opportunities you give yourself the more your confidence will grow.

Running in a group at night feels reassuringly safer and we plan the route so you can just enjoy yourself.

We are here to have fun and make friends not race. We will aim to run together, regroup when needed and encourage each other along the way. You should be able to run 6:15/7:00 min/km 10:00/11:00m/mi and be fit enough to run.

The following items are COMPULSORY:

  • A head torch or similar, I have SILVA head lamps for you to demo let me know if you need one as numbers are limited.
  • Trail shoes
